Please note, MANDATORY Pre-Trip Meeting: Saturday July 15th, 2023 9am-4pm @ Oakland BAWT Gear Library (1100 57th Ave., Oakland, CA 94621) Welcome to your five day backpacking course! The Wilderness Leadership Training consists of a pre-trip meeting and five days of backpacking. Skills learned include: clothing requirements, nutrition, equipment use, map and compass reading, basic wilderness first aid, leadership styles, group dynamics and more. Role playing exercises are used to give participants a realistic backcountry leadership experience. Food is provided and no previous experience is necessary. ~~~~~~~ By registering for this course, you are agreeing to BAWT's Cancellation Policy: "Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the pre-trip meeting for the WLT allow for a refund of 75% of the total registration fees already paid to BAWT. If notice of cancellation is given to BAWT 29 to 14 days prior to the pre-trip meeting you may receive a 25% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations 13 days or less prior to the pre-trip meeting. A full refund may be given in the event that we cancel a course, unless the participant cancels first. Any course materials received before the start of the course must be returned before you will receive a refund or you will be charged for them. You will be charged a fee for all course materials that were not returned."
